Description: ARABIA Finland sunflower stoneware dinner plate, 9.25” in diameter. The golden sunflower petals, outlined in black, burst on the ivory plate with a dotted earthy brown center. An iconic example of mid-century modern Scandinavian ceramics, the plate was hand-painted and signed on the back by noted Finnish ceramicist, Hilkka-Liisa Ahola (1920-2009.) Hand wash. The plate is in very good pre-owned, vintage condition. Glaze shows gentle crackling/crazing throughout, and one tiny unnoticeable nick on rim of foot–see photos. These flaws do not detract from the overall beauty, integrity and utility of the plate. It is beautiful.
